Adjust color settings

Instead of using the automatic settings, you can manually adjust the color settings for optimum color output.

From the Print dialog (when printing)

  1. From your software application, choose File  Print.
  2. From the Copies & Pages pop-up menu in the upper left corner, select Color Options.
  3. Choose from the following color settings:
    • Color. Produces natural colors; ideal for printing photos and graphics.
    • Black Only. Uses only the black cartridge to print, so that all output is pure black. This option also helps increase printing speed.

From the Lexmark All-In-One Center (when scanning or copying)

  1. Open the Lexmark All-In-One Center.
  2. Click Preview.
  3. On the Scan tab, you can adjust the color settings as follows:
    • From the Settings tab, select a preset scan setting corresponding to your document.
If a preset setting is not satisfactory, customize the scan settings by adjusting color depth, resolution, and choosing a descreen option.
    • From the Adjustments tab, adjust the brightness, contrast, gamma, and blur or sharpen your image.
    • Invert colors.
  4. On the Copy dialog, you can adjust the color settings as follows:
    • From the Settings tab under Copy Type, select:
      • Color - for all color documents and images.
      • Grayscale - for black and white images.
      • Black - for text-only documents.
    • Descreen.
    • From the Adjustments tab, adjust the brightness, contrast, gamma, and blur or sharpen your image.
    • Invert colors.
