Remove the USB cable from the computer, and then from the printer.
Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of the printer.
Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into an available Ethernet port on your router.
Wait 30 to 40 seconds for the internal print server to detect the wired network settings.
On your computer, do one of the following:
Click
Control Panel.
Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.
Click Start Printers & Faxes.
Right-click the Lexmark 9500 Series icon.
Click Properties.
From the Ports tab, click Add Port.
Note: | If you already created a TCP/IP port for the printer, you do not need to create a new one. You can proceed to step 16. |
Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
The Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard appears.
Click Next.
In the Printer Name field, type the IP address of the printer.

Click Next.
From the Additional Port Information Required screen, select Generic Network Card as the device type, and then click Next.
Click Finish.
From the Printer Ports screen, click Close.
Select the TCP/IP port, and then click Apply.
Click OK.
Print a test page to test the communication between the computer and the printer. For more information, see Printing a test page.
Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port of the printer.
Insert the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on the computer.
On your computer, do one of the following:
Click
Control Panel.
Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.
Click Start Printers & Faxes.
Right-click the Lexmark 9500 Series icon.
Click Properties.
From the Ports tab, select the USB port for your printer.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
