Printer sharing

With Apple's printer sharing feature starting in Mac OS X version 10.2.3, you can:

Print to another Mac OS X user's shared printer.

Note:

Starting in Mac OS X version 10.3, you can both print and scan to another Mac OS X user's shared printer.

Share the All-In-One (connected to your Macintosh) with other Mac OS X users that also use Mac OS X version 10.2.3 or later.
Share the All-In-One (connected to your Macintosh) with UNIX users.
Share the All-In-One (connected to your Macintosh) with Windows users.

Any printer, as well as computers and other shared resources, on your local network or subnet that use the Rendezvous technology is accessible from your computer. See the Mac Help for details about its Rendezvous technology.

Note:

In printer sharing, printer maintenance functions are done on the host computer. Also, the client can print only when the host computer is on.
