1. OVERVIEW

   This ReadMe file pertains to the current release of the Lexmark Scan to 
   Digitech application for Multifunction Printers (MFPs).

   The Lexmark Scan to Digitech application is an embedded Java 
   application that is installed as a flash file on MFPs that supports the 
   Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v1.2 or v2.0. The application 
   scans a document and inserts the image, with optional index data, into a 
   Digitech Systems ImageSilo or PaperVision Enterprise server.

2. REQUIREMENTS

   a. A multifunction printer that supports eSF 1.2 or 2.0 applications.
        
       Supported printers include:

         * X651de, X652de, X654de, X656de, X658de
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LR.MN.P131 or later.
	
         * X734e, X736e, X738e
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LR.FL.P103 or later.		
             
         * X463de, X464de, X466de, X466dte, X466dwe
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LR.BS.P072 or later.
         
         * X860de, X862de, X862dte, X864de, X864dhe
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LP.SP.P108 or later.

         * X850e, X852e, X854e
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LC2.BE.P450 or later.
         
         * X940e, X945e
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LC.BR.P060 or later.
         
         * X644e, X646e, X646dte 
           * Note: These devices require firmware level LC2.MC.P307a or later.

           * Note: These devices require firmware level LC2.TI.P305a or later.

   b. Memory: The device must have a minimum of 256MB RAM.

   c. Hard Drive:  The MFP must have a hard disk drive installed.

   ** The Open Source.zip file references source code used by the Scan to Digitech 
   solution that Lexmark is required to make available to the public. If a user 
   would like to use this code in a program, please consult the licensing 
   documentation provided with this file.  
   
4. INSTALLATION DETAILS

   A detailed method for installation can be found in the 
   Administrator's Guide located in the software package. 
         
4. KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE RELEASE
  
   a. Documents can be scanned into a Digitech Systems ImageSilo or PaperVision 
   Enterprise server.
   b. Index fields associated with scanned documents can be manually configured.
   c. Multiple profiles can be established with different web configuration 
   settings.
   d. Settings can be configured to change the e-Task icons and text associated
   with each profile. 
   e. Settings can be configured to hide or prefill user authentication fields 
   via the web adminstration page.
   f. The timeout value for index field prompts is configurable.
   g. The ability to only prompt a user for required index fields is configurable.
   h. Confirmation options via print, email or display on an e-Task panel is 
   configurable.
  
5. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE

   a. The "Test" button on the application configuration web page is not active.

   Scan to Digitech Administrator's Guide (AdminGuide.pdf) provided with 
   the application. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view this guide.
