The information in the following topics may help you solve print quality problems. If these suggestions do not correct the problem, contact Customer Support. You may have a printer part that requires adjustment or replacement.
Make sure the ribbon is securely installed on the carrier.
Replace the ribbon cartridge.
Run a printer test.
Make sure the paper and the ribbon cartridge are installed.
Press and hold Start/Stop for five seconds.
Press and hold LineFeed, and then press Start/Stop. Release LineFeed when printing begins.
Press Start/Stop to stop or interrupt the printer test.
Press Start/Stop again if you want to resume the printer test.

If the print quality does not improve, then contact Customer Support.
Run a printer test.
Make sure the forms thickness lever setting is in a position that corresponds with the forms you are using.
Make sure paper and the ribbon cartridge are installed.
Set the paper select lever to the position that corresponds with the forms you are using.
Press and hold Start/Stop for five seconds.
Press and hold LineFeed, and then press Start/Stop.
Release LineFeed when printing starts.

Press Start/Stop to stop the printing, and then unplug the printer power cord from the electrical outlet.
These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Make sure the forms thickness lever is in the appropriate position for the paper being used.
Make sure the ribbon is installed correctly.
Untwist or untangle the ribbon.
Remove the ribbon slack using the ribbon advance knob.
Remove and replace the ribbon cartridge.
These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Make sure the paper is free to feed from the carton and there is nothing obstructing paper movement.
Readjust the Top-Of-Form. For more information, see Setting Top-Of-Form.
From the Setup menu, adjust the page length. For more information, see Using Setup mode.
