Installing the Lexmark Job Router Service

Lexmark Job Router Service is a Windows service that submits print jobs to the Lexmark Print Management (LPM) database directly. The service uses standard TCP/IP ports on port number 9100.

From the computer, run the CD, and then navigate to the \tools\LxkJobRouter folder.

Run the JobRouterSetup.exe file, and then click Next .

Type the LPM site ID.

In the Database IP field, type the IP address of the LPM database.

Select the database type.

Type the location where print jobs are saved.

Note: This setting must be the same as the LPM location configuration.

If the location is a shared network folder, then type your credentials.

If the LPM database is Microsoft SQL Server, then click Next , and then configure the database settings.

Click Finish .

Create a TCP/IP print port for port number 9100 and the IP address of the computer where Lexmark Job Router Service is running.

Create a print queue using port number 9100.

Limitations

The Lexmark Job Router Service extracts metadata by parsing the PRN file from the print queue and shows only the data in the PRN file.

The service shows the client login user ID as the owner of the print job depending on the following:

The client-side rendering is on the print driver.
The workstation login user ID and the print server login user ID are different.

In a multiple-domain environment, the service shows the domain name as part of the user name.

Note: In the LexJobRouter.properties file, type multiDomain.support=ON to enable multiple-domain environment support.

The service may show a different page size name for a print job.

Note: If the service is running on a machine that is not in the LDD or LPM server, then it is configured with a \\IP\lexmark\printrelease network path. When submitting print jobs to the LPM table, the service writes the network path in the PR_JOBS table. If an error occurs, then in the LPM configuration, enter the network credentials for the "Directory for print jobs" setting.

Installing the Lexmark Job Router Service silently

Lexmark Keep Job Router Service can also be installed silently.

Note: In LDD version 5.7 or later, the Lexmark Job Router Service supports parsing files generated by Windows and macOS drivers.

Navigate to <LDD Installation directory>\install\Silent_Install_Script_Examples .

Run the command prompt as an administrator.

Run the Install_JobRouter.bat batch file.
