LEXMARK ECO-SETTINGS
Readme for versions 3.5.10


1.  OVERVIEW

    This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK ECO-SETTINGS
    application.

    Lexmark Eco-Settings is an embedded solution that can be installed on
    printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v2.x,
    v3.x or v4.x. Eco-Settings enables users to use their printer control panel
    to easily view and manage print settings that reduce energy consumption,
    noise, and toner and paper use.


2.  ASSOCIATED FILES

    The following files and publications are included the release.

    a.  Application Files

        NOTE: Eco-Settings comes installed automatically on supported single-
              function printers. Version 2.0.0 is automatically installed on eSF
              v2.x single-function printers; version 3.0.11 on eSF v3.x single-
              function printers and eSF v4.x single-function printers with 4.3-
              inch control panels; version 3.5.9 on eSF v4.x single-function
              printers with 7-inch control panels.

3.  REQUIREMENTS

    a.  A printer that supports eSF v3.x, or v4.x applications.

        Supported eSF v3.x printers include:

          *  x74x
             *  Required firmware level:  LHSC.NY.P260e or later.

          *  X792x
             *  Required firmware level:  LHS2.MR.P244a or later.

          *  X925x
             *  Required firmware level:  LHS2.HK.P244b or later.

          *  X95x
             *  Required firmware level:  LHS2.TQ.P244a or later.
             
          *  X548x
             *  Required firmware level:  LHS2.VK.P244a or later.

          *  6500e
             *  Required firmware level:  LHS2.JR.P244b or later.


     b.  Memory:  The printer must have a minimum of 256MB RAM.


4.  LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE

    a.  If a setting is changed and applied from the printer's configuration Web
        page, the page always displays a "Modified settings were committed
        successfully" message, regardless of whether the changes were actually
        applied on the printer. To find out if the settings were applied
        successfully, the administrator can refresh the screen.

    b.  Some settings such as Power Saver and Standby Mode cannot be changed
        while the printer is printing or is in an error state.

    c.  For eSF v3.x and v4.x printers, the application cannot be configured
        using MarkVision Professional (MVP).
