LEXMARK SCAN TO HARD DISK Readme for version 2.7.1 1. OVERVIEW This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK SCAN TO HARD DISK application. Lexmark Scan to Hard Disk is an embedded solution that can be installed on printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v3.x. Scan to Hard Disk enables users to scan documents and save them to the printer secure hard disk for printing on demand. Users can save the files in public folders, move, rename, delete, and retrieve files using the printer Embedded Web Server. 2. Publications * ScantoHardDisk_Admin_Guide.pdf * The Administrator's Guide * Readme.txt * (this file) 3. REQUIREMENTS a. A printer that supports eSF v3.x applications. Supported eSF v3.x printers include: * X54x * Required firmware level: LHS23.VK.P213a or later. * X74x * Required firmware level: LHSC3.NY.P213a or later. * X79x * Required firmware level: LHS23.MR.P213a or later. * X92x * Required firmware level: LHS23.HK.P213a or later. * X95x * Required firmware level: LHS23.TQ.P213a or later. * 6500e * Required firmware level: LHS23.JR.P213a or later. b. Memory: The printer must have a minimum of 256MB RAM. c. Hard Disk: The printer must have a hard disk installed. 4. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE a. If a user is downloading a large file, the printer may stop the download because of a downloading timeout set in the Embedded Web Server. This may cause the downloaded file to become corrupted. In addition, if a user is downloading multiple large files, the Embedded Web Server may freeze and the printer slow down until the files finish downloading. b. The application cannot be configured using MarkVision Professional (MVP). c. When printing higher resolution scans and files exceeding 20 MB in size, some pages may not be printed.
