LEXMARK SOLUTION COMPOSER (Pre-Moja) Readme for version 3.0.3 1. OVERVIEW This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK SOLUTION COMPOSER application. Lexmark Solution Composer is an easy-to-use program that lets users build custom workflow solutions for printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) or mobile devices with the Lexmark Mobile Capture application. These solutions can range in complexity from one- or two-step processes to workflows involving multiple user prompts and index files. The GUI component of Solution Composer, with its drag-and-drop interface, lets users build solutions immediately, no programming experience necessary. The custom solutions can then be deployed to a mobile device or printer. 2. ASSOCIATED FILES The following files and publications are included in the release: a. Application files * solnComp_e2-4-3.0.3.fls * The Solution Composer Agent application for eSF printers * SolutionComposer.exe * The Solution Composer GUI component version 3.0.5 b. Memory: The printer must have a minimum of 256MB of RAM. 5. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE a. Solution Composer versions 3.0 or later are not compatible with previous versions. Remove any previous versions of the Solution Composer Agent from your printer before installing version 3.0 or later. Solution packages created with previous versions of the Solution Composer GUI do not execute on version 3.0 or later. Solution Composer GUI a. Inserting a variable in a multiline text area with highlighted text is not being handled correctly. b. Inserting text in a multiline text area that extends beyond the boundary of the text area is not being handled correctly. c. The direct deployment feature is not available in v5.x printers. d. Some direct deployment may fail when Device Management on the application configuration is secured. e. When using Solution Composer Agent version 3.0.3 or later, Solution Composer GUI version should be at least v.3.0.5 due to the removal of Secure E-mail and changing of the deployed file format to UCF. Solution Composer Agent a. The Cancel Job button in the Scan to Fax task and the Copy task does not return to the home screen. b. A fax number is required in the Scan to Fax task even if Prompt At Runtime is selected. c. The Index File to FTP and Scan to FTP tasks do not support non-ASCII characters in the file name. d. Scanning a large file may result in a timeout condition on the printer, and the workflow may terminate prematurely. Increasing the printer control panel timeout setting may prevent this. e. The Print Confirmation task does not fully support the use of currency symbols. f. FAC configurations do not persist over solution updates initiated by Solution Composer. g. A print confirmation string does not wrap without a white space. Sometimes, the string leads to characters being cut off the side of the page. h. Added support for DOCX file format on v5.x printers only. i. Added support for following the time format of the device setting when adding the time stamp variable board. j. Added SFTP support but using an older library version (similar to Scan to Network Folder application), which causes an error when scanning to an SFTP server requiring a newer version of the JSCH Library. k. Accessing Solution Composer workflow applications through a shortcut number reflects the information provided by the Solution Composer workflow, but it will be regarded as a shortcut for the native workflow. Thus, any additional tasks in the Solution Composer workflow will not be called. l. The transmission logs setting from the Embedded Web Server has no effect on a Solution Composer Email (Standard or Secure) workflow. m. For the time stamp format, all valid characters are under the SimpleDateFormat class in Java. For more information, refer to the following link: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html n. The time stamp format setting is limited to the destination's operating system. Invalid characters in the scanned file name are cut from the first instance of the invalid character to all its succeeding characters. For example, the colon (:) character is not allowed in Windows. Thus, when you input a time stamp format of "-HH:mm:ss" and a file name of "Scan," the resulting file in the Windows destination server will be "Scan-10" (if the current time is 10:00 a.m.). When using Solution Composer Agent version 3.0.3 or later, Solution Composer GUI version should be at least v.3.0.5 due to the removal of Secure E-mail and changing of the deployed file format to UCF. p. If the Solution Composer Agent app is not needed, just stop the app and do not uninstall. Uninstalling it may disable other apps. 6. RELEASE NOTES * In Solution Composer GUI, deploying solution to file will create a UCF file instead of LWFD. To install the solution to the printer, the UCF file should be imported in Solution Composer Agent's configuration page. * Scan to Secure E-mail and Secure E-mail Confirmation were removed from Solution Composer GUI. * Solution Composer GUI's Log4j was updated to latest Log4j 2. * JPEG TIFF Compression was added in Scan Settings. For more information on installation and configuration instructions, see the Lexmark Solution Composer User's Guide provided with the application Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view this guide.
