LEXMARK SOLUTION COMPOSER Readme for version 3.0.6 1. OVERVIEW This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK SOLUTION COMPOSER application. Lexmark Solution Composer is an easy-to-use program that lets users build custom workflow solutions for printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) or mobile devices with the Lexmark Mobile Capture application. These solutions can range in complexity from one- or two-step processes to workflows involving multiple user prompts and index files. The GUI component of Solution Composer, with its drag-and-drop interface, lets users build solutions immediately, no programming experience necessary. The custom solutions can then be deployed to a mobile device or printer. 2. ASSOCIATED FILES The following files and publications are included in the release: a. Remove any previous versions of the Solution Composer Agent from your printer before installing version 1.0 or later. Solution packages created with previous versions of the solution Composer GUI do not execute on version 1.0 or later. b. Solution packages created with Solution Composer Designer version 2.0 and earlier are not compatible with Solution Composer Agent version 3.0. c. Solutions created with Solution Composer Designer version 3.0 and later are not compatible with Solution Composer Agent version 2.0. d. Solution Composer versions 3.0 or later are not compatible with previous versions. Remove any previous versions of the Solution Composer Agent from your printer before installing version 3.0 or later. Solution packages created with previous versions of the Solution Composer GUI do not execute on version 3.0 or later. Solution Composer GUI a. Inserting a variable in a multiline text area with highlighted text is not being handled correctly. b. Inserting text in a multiline text area that extends beyond the boundary of the text area is not being handled correctly. c. Direct deployment feature is not available on eSF v5.x or later printers. d. Some direct deployment may fail when Device Management on the application configuration is secured. Solution Composer Agent a. The Cancel Job button in the Scan to Fax task and the Copy task does not return to the home screen. b. A fax number is required in the Scan to Fax task even if Prompt At Runtime is selected. c. The Index File to FTP and Scan to FTP tasks do not support non-ASCII characters in the file name. d. Scanning a large file may result in a timeout condition on the printer, and the workflow may terminate prematurely. Increasing the printer control panel timeout setting may prevent this. e. The Print Confirmation task does not fully support the use of currency symbols. f. FAC configurations do not persist over solution updates initiated by Solution Composer. g. Solutions for X792x, X925x, X95x, and 6500e printers cannot be updated through the Embedded Web Server. For these printers, uninstall the previous version of the solution before installing the later version. h. A print confirmation string does not wrap without white space. Sometimes, the string leads to characters being cut off the side of the page. i. Added support for DOCX file format on v5.x and later printers only. j. Added support for following the time format of the device setting when adding the time stamp variable board. k. Added SFTP support but using an newer library version, which causes an error when scanning to an SFTP server requiring an older version of the JSCH Library. l. Accessing Solution Composer workflow applications through a shortcut number still reflects the information provided by the Solution Composer workflow, but it will be regarded as a shortcut for the native workflow. Thus, any additional tasks in the Solution Composer workflow will not be called. m. The transmission logs setting from the Embedded Web Server has no effect on a Solution Composer Email (Standard or Secure) workflow. n. For the time stamp format, all valid characters are under the SimpleDateFormat class in JAVA. For more information, refer to the following link: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html o. The time stamp format setting is limited to the destination's operating system. Invalid characters in the scanned file name are cut from the first instance of the invalid character to all its succeeding characters. For example, the colon (:) character is not allowed in Windows. Thus, when you input a time stamp format of "- HH:mm:ss" and a file name of "Scan," the resulting file in the Windows destination server will be "Scan-10" (if the current time is 10:00 a.m.). The printer needs to have firmware version 7.2 or later to support OCR CSV. A printer hard disk and an AccuRead OCR license are also needed. 6. RELEASE NOTES * Removed solutions package deployment through Embedded Web Server installation. * Added support for UCF deployment.
