LEXMARK EMBEDDED DOCUMENT ACCOUNTING SOLUTION FOR COST RECOVERY Readme for versions 3.3.0, 2.5.5, 2.2.9, and 1.5.4 1. OVERVIEW This README pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK EMBEDDED DOCUMENT ACCOUNTING SOLUTION FOR UNIPRINT application for printers. The Lexmark Embedded Document Accounting Solution for Cost UNIPRINT (eDAS) is an embedded solution that can be installed on printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v4.x, v3.x, v2.x or v1.x. The application is a Pharos integration solution that allows printers to interact with a Pharos Uniprint server to facilitate document accounting capability for copying, faxing, FTP, e-mailing, and releasing queued print jobs in either a "pay first" or "cost recovery" mode. 2. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE a. When moving the Pharos server that is using DHCP, if the IP address of the Pharos server changes problems can occur. If this event occurs: 1. In the Pharos admin, under the System/Servers file view, there is an IP Address property that needs to be set to the new server address. 2. For machines with a Pharos popup client installed, there is a registry setting. This is under Pharos/Popup Client/Server in the registry. A setting called Server Address needs to be reset with the new Pharos server address. The above can be accomplished by using regedit. b. If using Print Release and the Spool Queue created on the Pharos server is configured to use a Lexmark custom print driver, then the driver should be configured to use the WinPrint Print Processor. To configure this setting: 1. Open the Printers and Faxes folder. 2. Right-click on the print object that was created by Pharos to represent the Spool Queue. 3. Select Properties, then the Advanced tab, then the Print Processor button. 4. Select WinPrint, then OK out. c. When the "Use printer setting" is enabled, and "Duplex" is enabled through the printer Finishing Menu, the cost is calculated and charged based on Simplex setting, despite the document getting printed on both sides of the paper. d. The "Collate" per job attribute will be charged even when a single- page print job is sent via the Job Cost Method. e. If "Manual Feeder" is set as a per job attribute in the Job Cost Method, and print from USB is selected through manual feeder, then the cost corresponding to "Manual Feeder" will not be charged. f. After completion of a print job from USB drive, sometimes a white screen appears instead of the print confirmation screen. Pressing hard home button discards this white screen and home screen is displayed. 5.
