LEXMARK EMBEDDED DOCUMENT ACCOUNTING SOLUTION FOR USER TRACKING Readme for version 4.3.3 1. OVERVIEW This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK EMBEDDED DOCUMENT ACCOUNTING SOLUTION FOR USER TRACKING application. Lexmark Embedded Document Accounting Solution (eDAS) for User Tracking is an embedded solution that can be installed on printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v5.x. The application is a Pharos integration solution that allows printers to interact with a Pharos Blueprint server to facilitate document accounting capability for copying, faxing, e-mailing, and releasing queued print jobs. 2. Pharos Blueprint Enterprise 5.1 or 5.2 c. The Lexmark Register ME application 4. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE a. When the user selects the documents on the list and touches "Print," the application calls a Pharos web service that releases the job from the secure queue. eDAS cannot stop or cancel the release of the job even when the user cancels the job from the printer screen. However, for copy, e-mail, and fax, canceling the job does not reflect the whole (predicted) job count, but the actual page count on Pharos. b. When releasing multiple print jobs with a large page count, not all jobs may be printed. This error is caused by Send Operation timeout, which closes the connection and prevents the printer from responding to the server when the printer is busy. The server waits, and if the timeout expires, then Pharos Blueprint considers the job release as having failed and stops sending the job. We recommend not releasing all your jobs at once. Release them gradually to avoid the timeout. c. If documents are scanned and sent using the e-mail function, and the user's account on the Pharos Blueprint server does not have an e-mail address associated with it, then the From address field is empty, which means that recipients of the e-mail cannot identify the sender. d. If an SSL server certificate with no entry for the State field is used to secure the communication, then the application fails to connect. When generating the server certificate, make sure that you populate the State field. e. When an OMNIKEY card reader is connected, the following message may appear on the printer screen: "Unsupported USB Device. Please remove." To resolve this issue, unplug and plug in the card reader again. This action may cause the card reader not to recognize the card during authentication. To resolve this issue, reboot the printer. f. When settings are changed through Pharos Systems Blueprint Administrator, the changes are not reflected on the printer display unless the application is restarted from the Embedded Web Server. The printer may need to be rebooted. This preexisting issue may not be reproducible. g. If Card Authentication is used as the authentication method, then users are logged in to the printer when tapping the card for the first time. When they tap the card again to use a release station, they are logged out. Card Authentication logs in a user on the first tap and logs out the user on the second tap. Use manual login on this application. h. If the fax setting on the printer is disabled, then you cannot send documents using the fax terminal of Pharos Blueprint. To send fax jobs, configure the Fax Mode setting to either "Analog" or "Fax Server" on the printer. 5.
