Using the auto-cropping feature with scans
There are additional settings not fully discussed in this User Guide. This section gives you information on some of them. You can find additional information online by clicking Help when in the software.
Changing advanced copy settings
The general procedure for changing the options is as follows:
- Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3300 Series Lexmark All-In-One Center.
The Scanning and Copying tab appears.
- In the Copy section, click See More Copy Settings.
- Click Advanced Copy Settings.
The Advanced Copy Settings dialog box appears.
- Click one of the tabs, such as Image Enhancements.
- Select one of the options, such as Sharpen blurry images.
- Click OK.
Adjusting the scan settings for newspapers, magazines, or lithographs
For scanning:
- Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3300 Series Lexmark All-In-One Center.
- Click See More Scan Settings.
- Click Display Advanced Scan Settings.
- Click the Image Patterns tab.
- In the Remove Patterns section, select Remove image patterns from newspaper/magazine (descreen).
- In the What was scanned section, select Newspaper, Magazine, or Lithograph.
- Click Scan Now.
For copying:
- Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3300 Series All-In-One Center.
- Click See More Copy Settings.
- Click Advanced Copy Settings.
- Select the Image Patterns tab.
- Make sure the second box is checked to remove image patterns from magazines or newspapers.
- Make additional selections as desired.
- Click OK.
Using the auto-cropping feature with scans
To use the auto-cropping feature:
- Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3300 Series Lexmark All-In-One Center.
- Click See More Scan Settings.
- Click Display Advanced Scan Settings.
The Scan tab appears.
- Select Auto-crop the scanned item.
- Adjust the slider to the left to crop less or to the right to crop more.
- Click OK.
Note: When auto-cropping is selected, there is no additional white space around the border of the scanned image. The image includes only the non-white central area of the object on the scanner glass. Auto-cropping can also be used to trim the border from a page of text.
To turn off auto-cropping:
- Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3300 Series Lexmark All-In-One Center.
- Click See More Scan Settings.
- Click Display Advanced Scan Settings.
- Click Select area to be scanned, and then select a scan area from the drop-down menu.
- Click OK.
