Load paper

When loading paper and specialty media, consider these general tips:

To load most types of paper:

  1. Place the paper against the right side of the paper support.

    Envelopes

  2. Adjust the paper guide.

Load plain paper
Load envelopes
  • Use paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Use envelopes designed for inkjet printers.
  • Make sure your paper is not used or damaged.
  • Do not load envelopes with holes, perforations, cutouts, deep embossing, metal clasps, metal folding bars, string ties, or exposed adhesive flaps.
  • Do not force the paper into the All-In-One.
  • Load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the paper support with the stamp location in the upper left corner.
  • If you are using A4 or letter size paper, you do not need to adjust the paper guide.
  • Squeeze and slide the paper guide to the left edge of the envelope.

Load coated or premium paper
Load photo or glossy paper
  • Use coated or premium paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Use photo or glossy paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Load coated or premium paper with the coated side facing you.
  • Load photo or glossy paper with the glossy side facing you.
  • Squeeze and slide the paper guide to the left edge of the paper.
  • Squeeze and slide the paper guide to the left edge of the paper.

Load labels
Load iron-on transfers
  • Use labels designed for inkjet printers.
  • Use iron-on transfers designed for inkjet printers.
  • Load labels with the coated side facing you.
  • Load photo or glossy paper with the glossy side facing you.
  • Make sure the adhesive on the labels does not extend to within 1 mm of the edge of the label.
  • Squeeze and slide the paper guide to the left edge of the paper.

Load cards
Load transparencies
  • Use cards (greeting cards, index cards, photo cards, or postcards) designed for inkjet printers.
  • Use transparencies designed for inkjet printers.
  • Make sure your cards are not used or
    damaged.
  • Load the transparencies with the rough side facing you.
  • Check that the thickness does not exceed 0.025 inches.
  • If the transparencies have paper backing sheets, separate the paper from the transparencies before you load them.
  • Load the cards vertically against the right side of the paper support.
  • If the transparencies have a removable strip, make sure each strip faces away from you and down toward the All-In-One.
