Convert scanned items to text

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Using the OCR software feature, you can turn scanned images into editable text within a word processing application. Make sure that your OCR software is installed. Go to Install the All-In-One add-on software.

1. Load original documents on the scanner glass.
2. Open the Lexmark 6200 Series Center.
3. On the Scan tab, open the How will the scan be used? pop-up menu.
4. Choose To edit text (OCR).

   Note:

   The OCR function is not available if Photo is selected from the What is being scanned? menu.

5. Click Scan.

Your scanned image is converted to editable text. Open your scanned image from the OCR application for preview and edit.
