Printer sharing

With Apple's printer sharing feature starting in Mac OS X v10.2, you can:

Print to another Mac OS X user's shared printer.

Note:

Starting in Mac OS X v10.3 Panther, you can both print and scan to another Mac OS X user's shared printer.

Share your All-In-One (installed in your Macintosh) with other Mac OS X users that also use Mac OS X version 10.2 and later.
Share your All-In-One (installed in your Macintosh) with UNIX users.
Share your All-In-One (installed in your Macintosh) with Windows users.

Any printer, as well as computers and other shared resources, on your local network or subnet that use the Rendezvous technology, is accessible to your computer. Refer to Mac Help for details about its Rendezvous technology.

Note:

In printer sharing, printer maintenance functions are done on the host computer. The client can print only when the host computer is on.
