203 and 230 paper jams

  1. If the jam is in the standard exit bin, grasp the paper and pull it away from the bin.

  2. If the jam is under the rollers near the fuser:

    Warning—Potential Damage: To avoid overexposing the photoconductors, do not leave the front door open longer than 10 minutes.
    1. Open the front door, and then open the top cover.

      hot_surface caution icon CAUTION—HOT SURFACE: The inside of the printer might be hot. To reduce the risk of injury from a hot component, allow the surface to cool before touching.
    2. Grasp the paper on each side, and pull it out gently.

    3. Close the top cover, and then close the front door.

  3. If the jam is between the front door and Tray 1:

    1. Remove Tray 1.

    2. Open the front door.

      Warning—Potential Damage: To avoid overexposing the photoconductors, do not leave the front door open longer than 10 minutes.
    3. Pull straight up to remove the jammed paper.

    4. Pull out on the release tabs to allow the front door to split.

    5. Pull straight out to remove any jammed paper.

    6. Close the front door.

    7. Reinsert Tray 1.

  4. Press art of the select button.
