計算產品的能源總用量，有時頗有用處。由於電源用量聲明是以瓦 (Watt) 作為電力單位，因此電源用量的計算應該要乘以產品在每個模式下所花的時間，才能得到正確的能源用量。產品的能源用量總計，是每個模式的能源用量之總和。
