Install / Uninstall
SP1 (Service Pack 1) Install Specifications
A single executable
package—LDSS32_SP1.exe—will update either evaluation or licensed versions of
LDSS 3.2. The same package is used to update both client and server software.
The install package
consists only of files that need to be upgraded for SP1.
The service pack will
upgrade only components already installed for which an update is available. The
service pack cannot be used to add LDSS components to a system.
SP1 Installation Procedure
This service pack is
designed to be installed on top of an existing LDSS 3.2 installation. If
anything from 3.2 is installed after the service pack has been applied, the
service pack should be applied again after that installation. (For example, a
system has Lexmark Document Distributor (3.2 CD1) installed. The service pack
is then applied. If, Lexmark Document Portal (3.2 CD3)—or anything else from
3.2—is later installed, the service pack must be reapplied.)
All open programs should
be closed before installing the service pack.
Forms Composer applications will be
updated to the language selected for the service pack install.

Troubleshooting
A known problem that results from NOT
reapplying the service pack after installing a new LDSS component from 3.2 is
that the uninstall screen may contain incorrect strings, such as:
#Components.servicepack#
#Components.sp1#
Upgrading from a pre-release
version of LDSS v3.2 is not supported. The released version of LDSS v3.2 is
build 838. This build number can be verified on any LDSS
server; LDSS client software does not include such a build number. The build
number can be obtained by opening the desired server in Server Manager, then selecting
"Servers," "Manage" from the top menu. The build number can
be found at the end of the version number on the Properties tab.
The installer does not support any
version checking.
PE fixes or later service packs
could cause version conflicts. Lexmark technical support will advise customers
with PE fixes whether to install the service pack, and will re-release a PE
build based on SP1 if necessary.
The service pack itself cannot be
uninstalled without uninstalling the entire product.
If any of the LDSS services are not
running after the service pack is installed, this can be resolved by rebooting.
Existing Forms Composer applications will be updated to the language
selected for the service pack installation. If Forms Composer is accidentally
updated to an undesired language, this can be resolved by running the service
pack again and selecting the desired Forms Composer language in the installer.
To change the service pack/Forms Composer install language, select "Change
Language" at the bottom of the install screen before selecting
"Install Lexmark Document Solutions Service Pack."
FaxByPrinter action times
out when WaitForCompletion = true
Fixed a
problem where the
FaxByPrinter action timed out and failed when the WaitForCompletion property
was set to true, regardless of whether or not the fax actually succeeded. A firmware update is also required to resolve this problem for
the Lexmark T63X and the Lexmark C750. Without this firmware update,
FaxByPrinter actions with WaitForCompletion set to true will not time out, but
the job will remain on the server and cannot be deleted without rebooting. The
following firmware updates will resolve the problem of the job being
"stuck" on the server:
Printer |
Firmware Level |
Lexmark T63X |
551.030 |
Lexmark C750 |
853.031 |

Technical Support at 1-800-LEXMARK.
