Before you begin, do one of the following:
For LDD 5.0 or later, install the Java SE 8 Development Kit (JDK 8) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE). These LDD versions are shipped with Java 1.8.0_91.
For LDD 4.8.03 or later, install the JDK 7 and JRE. These LDD versions are shipped with Java 1.7.0_55-b13.
For LDD 4.8.02 or earlier, install the JDK 6 and JRE. These LDD versions are shipped with Java 1.6.0_18-b07.

The following instructions are for the Eclipse IDE software version 4.3.2 (Kepler). Instructions may vary for other versions of the software. The Eclipse IDE software for Java Developers is available at the Eclipse website.
From the Eclipse IDE software, change the workspace to a folder name with no spaces.
Note: Run the Eclipse IDE software as an administrator. |
If necessary, close the Welcome screen.
If you are using a proxy server, then set up a proxy connection.

Install the LDD SDK plug-in. For more information, see Installing the LDD SDK plug-in.
The LDD SDK menu is available after installing the Solution Builder Toolkit.
Enable the Lexmark Solution Development perspective. For more information, see Enabling the Lexmark Solution Development perspective.
Note: A perspective provides predefined layouts and editor sets in the Eclipse IDE software. |
Install an Eclipse software plug-in for editing JavaScript files, such as JSEclipse.
To install JSEclipse, type
in the Available Software dialog box.Notes:
Enable the automatic completion of libraries for JSEclipse. Do the following:
In the Eclipse software, click LDD SDK > Update JSEclipse Autocomplete.
Note: If JSEclipse is not installed, then the menu item is unavailable. |
Restart the Eclipse software.
Note: When updating plug-ins, make sure that the Lexmark Solution Development perspective is enabled. For more information, see Enabling the Lexmark Solution Development perspective. |
