Align the print cartridges from the Control panel
The auto-alignment feature of your All-In-One lets you align the print cartridges using the Control panel. You usually do print cartridge alignment only when you are installing or replacing cartridges, but you may also need to align cartridges when:
- Characters are improperly formed or are misaligned at the left margin.
- Vertical, straight lines are wavy.
To align the cartridges using the Control panel:
- Load plain paper.
- Access the print cartridges by opening the scanner unit. See How to open the scanner unit.
- Install the print cartridges. Be sure to close the scanner unit after cartridge installation.
- "Do you want to align the print heads?" appears on the display.
- After a moment, "Align - Yes" appears.
- On the Control panel, press + if you want to align the print cartridges. Press - if you do not want to align the print cartridges.
- Press to confirm your menu selection.
- If you choose to align the print cartridges, the All-In-One prints an alignment page.
-
"Alignment Page Printing" appears on the display.
Note: |
While the alignment page prints, the auto alignment feature of your All-In-One analyzes the page for the best alignment values. |
- Once auto alignment is successful, "Auto Alignment Complete" appears on the display.
- Your display returns to the default setting.
