Add a remote network printer

A remote subnet is another network that is connected to your network. If your All-In-One is attached to a remote subnet instead of your network (local subnet), you must enter some information to help the software find the printer.

Make sure your All-In-One on the remote subnet is already configured or has been assigned an IP address. Go to Assign an IP address.

Add a remote network printer from the Printer Selection dialog

  1. Open the Lexmark 6200 Series Utility.
  2. From the menu bar, choose Advanced. The Advanced menu appears.
  3. Click Select Printer.... The Printer Selection dialog appears.
  4. Click Add Remote....
  5. Add printers in the Add Remote Printer dialog:
    1. To add just one configured printer to the list, select Add Single Printer. Enter the IP address of the remote network printer.
    2. To search all the available printers on the subnet, select Search Subnet. Enter the IP address of the subnet.
  6. Click OK to go back to the Printer Selection dialog.
  7. Select your printer from the list on the Printer Selection dialog.
  8. Click Select.
  9. Continue to Add your All-In-One to the Printer List.

Add a remote network printer from the Network Printer Configuration dialog

  1. Open the Lexmark 6200 Series Utility.
  2. From the menu bar, choose Advanced.The Advanced menu appears.
  3. Choose Network Printer Configuration.... The Network Printer Configuration dialog appears.
  4. Click Add Remote....
  5. Add printers in the Add Remote dialog:
    1. To add just one configured printer to the list, select Add Single Printer. Enter the IP address of the remote network printer.
    2. To search all the available printers on the subnet, select Search Subnet. Enter the IP address of the subnet.
  6. Click OK to go back to the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
  7. Select your printer from the list on the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
  8. Click Done.
  9. Continue to Add your All-In-One to the Printer List.
