Add a remote network printer
A remote subnet is another network that is connected to your network. If your printer is attached to a remote subnet instead of your network (local subnet), you must enter some information to help the software find the printer.
Make sure your printer on the remote subnet is already configured or has been assigned of an IP address. Go to Assign an IP address.
To add a remote network printer from the Printer Selection dialog:
- Open the Lexmark 810 Series Utility.
- From the menu bar, choose Advanced to display the Advanced menu.
- Click Select Printer.... The Printer Selection dialog appears.
- Click Add Remote....
- Add printers in the Add Remote Printer dialog:

Add just one configured printer to the list
| Add Single Printer
| Enter the IP address of the remote network printer.
|
Search all the available printers on the subnet
| Search Subnet
| Enter the IP address of the subnet.
|
- Click OK to go back to the Printer Selection dialog.
- Select your printer from the list on the Printer Selection dialog.
- Click Select.
- Continue on to Add your printer to the Printer List.
To add a remote network printer from the Network Printer Configuration dialog:
- Open the Lexmark 810 Series Utility.
- From the menu bar, choose Advanced to display the Advanced menu.
- Choose Network Printer Configuration.... The Network Printer Configuration dialog appears.
- Click Add Remote....
- Add printers in the Add Remote dialog:

| Enter the IP address of the remote network printer.

Search all the available printers on the subnet
| Search Subnet
| Enter the IP address of the subnet.

- Click OK to go back to the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
- Select your printer from the list on the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
- Click Done.
- Continue on to Add your printer to the Printer List.
