Remove the print cartridge

Make sure the printer is on.
Raise the access cover. The cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
Press down on the cartridge lever to raise the cartridge lid.
Remove the old cartridge.

Note: The same procedure applies when removing a black, color, or photo cartridge.
Use the cartridge storage unit that came with your photo cartridge to store cartridges for future use. Store it in an airtight container or dispose of it properly.

Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat steps 3 and 4 for the second cartridge.
