Enhance photograph print quality
To improve the print quality of your photos, follow these basic guidelines:
- Use photo paper. You can dramatically improve printout quality with the use of specialty paper. Look for photo paper brands that have the following description:
- Inkjet photo paper. Provides photographic quality reproduction of illustrations, scanned images, and digital photography.
- High resolution inkjet paper. Excellent for reproduction of images and graphics. A special coating provides vivid, sharp output.
- Maximize the settings in your software application for the highest photo print quality. It is also important that you choose the correct paper type.
To enhance photograph print quality from the Print dialog for basic printing jobs:
- From the software application, click File Print.
- From the pop-up menu, choose Quality & Media.
- From Paper Type: pop-up menu, choose Glossy/Photo.
- From Print Quality area, select Better or Best.
To enhance photograph print quality from the Lexmark 2200 Series Center for scanning and copying jobs:
- If you are copying the photograph, select the Copy tab.
- From the Copy Quality area, select Best.
- From the Output Paper Type pop-up menu, choose Glossy/Photo.
- Click the Preview... button to access the Copy dialog and fine-tune your copy settings.
- Select the Settings tab.
- From the Copy Type area, select the copy type that is appropriate for your photo.
- From the Copy Quality area, make sure Best is selected.
- From the Descreen pop-up menu, choose your preferred descreen option.
- Select the Adjustments tab and fine-tune your layout and color settings.
- Select the Finishing tab to fine-tune your zoom and layout settings.
- Click the Copy button.
- If you are scanning the photograph, select the Scan tab.
- From the What is being scanned? menu, select Photo.
- From the How will the scan be used? pop-up menu, choose To be printed or Viewed on-screen/Web page. The scanning of your photos is optimized based on this selection.
- Click the Preview... button to access the Scan dialog and fine-tune your scan settings.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Select one of the preset scan setting (Color Photo - Print, Color Photo - Web, or Black and White Photo) appropriate for your photo, or customize your scan settings accordingly.
- Select the Adjustments tab and fine-tune your layout and color settings.
- Click the Scan button.
