Cannot send fax

The All-In-One or computer power is not on.

Make sure your computer is on. Press the Power button on the All-In-One.

Are you trying to send a color fax?

Many fax machines are incapable of receiving color faxes. Turn off the fax color settings located in the Lexmark Fax Solutions software.

Is the original document loaded correctly?

Load the original document face down in the front right corner of the scanner glass with the long edge of the document on the long edge of the scanner glass.

Is there a paper jam?

Adjust the settings in the fax software.

Cannot receive fax

The All-In-One or computer power is not on.

Is the paper loaded correctly?

Received blank fax

Is the receiving fax machine out of ink?

Replace the print cartridge with a new cartridge.

Is a print cartridge installed?

Install one or both print cartridges as needed. For more information, see Installing print cartridges.

Are the sticker and tape removed from the print cartridges?

Remove the stickers and transparent tape from the bottom of the print cartridges. For more information, see Installing print cartridges.

Adjust the settings in the fax software.

Received fax has poor print quality

Does the original document have poor quality?

Make sure the quality of the original document on the sending fax machine is satisfactory.

Is the ink low on the receiving fax machine?

If you are using the receiving fax machine, replace the print cartridge with a new cartridge. For more information, see Replacing the print cartridges.
