Aligning the print cartridges

The print cartridges are automatically aligned after every installation or replacement. However, you may need to align the cartridges manually when:

• Characters are improperly formed or are misaligned at the left margin.
• Vertical, straight lines are wavy.

From the control panel

1. Load plain paper.
2. Follow the steps in Performing maintenance tasks from the control panel.

From the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility

1. Load plain paper.
2. Open the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility.
3. From the Cartridges tab, click Align Cartridges. The Cartridge Alignment dialog appears.
4. Click Continue to print the alignment page.
5. On the Alignment Status dialog, click OK to return to the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility main window.
