Lexmark 4300 Series Utility

If the All-In-One is attached to a computer, the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility is the central resource for All-In-One maintenance and related tasks. The following tasks can be done from the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility:

• Installing the print cartridges
• Aligning the print cartridges
• Cleaning the print cartridge nozzles
• Printing a test page
• Ordering supplies
• Checking for offers (United States and Canada only)
• Checking the ink levels
• Selecting a printer
• Configuring a network printer
• Viewing printer diagnostic information

The Lexmark 4300 Series Utility has two main sections: the Cartridges tab and the About tab. To open the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility:

• From the desktop, double-click the Lexmark 4300 Series folder  Lexmark 4300 Series Utility.

Note:

If the Lexmark 4300 Series folder is not found on the desktop or was accidentally deleted, go to the Mac OS X drive where the All-In-One software was installed, and then choose Library  Printers  Lexmark  2005  Lexmark 4300 Series folder.

• From the Lexmark 4300 Series Center, click the .
• From your application, choose File  Print. From the pop-up menu, choose Printer Services. Click Lexmark 4300 Series Utility. The Lexmark 4300 Series Utility appears.

Cartridges tab	Install/Change Cartridge	Specify cartridge settings in the All-In-One software when installing or changing a cartridge.
	Align Cartridges	Align the cartridges.
	Clean Print Nozzles	Improve print quality by cleaning clogged print nozzles.
	Print Test Page	Check whether the All-In-One is functioning properly.
	Order Supplies	Order supplies, such as print cartridges, from the Lexmark Web site.
	Offers	Visit the Lexmark Web site for offers (United States and Canada only).
About tab		Obtain All-In-One software version.
Advanced menu	Select Printer	Select a printer, and make it the default printer. Find the IP address for the selected printer. Add a printer located on a remote subnet. You can add a single printer, or search the subnet for all available printers. View a list of all USB, USB print sharing, and network printers on the local subnet as well as those configured for use on remote subnets from this system.
	Network Printer Configuration	Enter or change the IP address of the selected printer. Add a printer located on a remote subnet. You can add a single printer, or search the subnet for all available printers.
	Printer Diagnostics	View information needed by the Customer Support Center.
