Enlarge or reduce an image
Use the Copy function in the Lexmark 2200 Series Center to enlarge or reduce an image.
- Load the paper or specialty media in the paper support. For help, see Load paper and specialty media.
- Load originals on the scanner glass.
- Open the Lexmark 2200 Series Center.
- Select the Copy tab.
- From the Original Paper Size: pop-up menu, choose the paper size that matches the actual size of the photo or document on the scanner glass. Enter the correct paper size so that the resized image is not cropped or distorted. The scanning software then resizes your document when you set the zooming value.
- To enlarge an image: From the Zoom area, choose the desired enlargement value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter an incremental percentage value. For example, if you choose 8 x 10 inch for a 3 x 5 inch photograph, the photograph is enlarged until it reaches the edge of an 8 x 10 inch print area.
To reduce an image: From the Zoom area, choose the desired reduction value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter a percentage value lower than the size of the original image. For example, if you choose Wallet for a 3 x 5 inch photograph, the photograph is reduced to fit inside a wallet size print area.
- To crop your image and make other photo or document enhancements:
- Click Preview... .
- Select the Finishing tab. The zoom setting you selected earlier is reflected in the Zoom window. Change this setting as needed.
- If you want to print only a portion of your photo or document, manually crop the image. For more information, see Crop photos.
- Adjust the copy settings on the Settings and Adjustment tabs as needed.
- Click Copy.
Experiment with your photo software to make sure that the image you are enlarging or reducing would look good in printed form. Jagged edges usually appear when images are printed bigger than the size they are meant to be. Minimize this pixilated effect by following the instructions for your printing or copying jobs.
