Adjusting color settings when scanning

Instead of using the automatic settings, you can manually adjust the color settings for optimum color output.

  1. Open the Lexmark 4300 Series Center.
  2. From the Scan tab, click Preview/Edit to open the Scan dialog.
  3. From the Settings tab:
    • Select a preset scan setting corresponding to your document.
    • If a preset setting is not satisfactory, customize the scan settings by adjusting color depth and resolution, and choosing a descreen option.
    • Reduce background noise, if needed. Select Reduce Background Noise, and move the slider to adjust the level of noise reduction.
    • Note: The noise reduction option is only enabled when copying or scanning color documents.
  4. From the Adjustments tab:
    • Adjust the brightness, contrast, and gamma (color correction curve).
    • Sharpen the image.
    • Invert colors.
