Enlarge or reduce an image

Use the Zoom function in the Copy Tab of the Lexmark All-In-One Center to enlarge or reduce an image.

  1. Load your document on the scanner glass.
  2. Open the Lexmark All-In-One Center.
The Lexmark All-In-One Center Main Page displays.
  1. Select the Copy tab.
  2. From Original Paper Type: pop-up menu, choose the paper size that matches the actual size of the photo
or document on the scanner glass.

    Note:

It is important that you enter the correct paper size so that the resized image is not cropped
or distorted. The scanning software of your All-In-One reads this information and uses it to resize your document when you set the zooming value.

  3. To enlarge an image:
From Zoom, choose the desired enlargement value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter an incremental percentage value. For example, if you choose 8 x 10 inch (Letter) for a 3 x 5 photograph, the photograph is resized into an 8 x 10 inch image.

Note:

In order to enlarge an image, the zoom value must be higher than the actual size of the original image.

To reduce an image:
From Zoom, choose the desired reduction value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter a percentage value lower than the size of the original image. For example, if you choose Wallet for a 3 x 5 photograph, the photograph is resized into a wallet-sized image.

Note:

In order to reduce an image, the zoom value must be lower than the actual size of the original image.

  1. To crop your image and make other photo or document enhancements:
    1. Click Preview.
    2. Select the Finishing tab.
The zoom setting you set earlier is reflected in the Zoom window. Change this setting, as needed.
    1. If you want to print only a portion of your photo or document, see Crop photos.
    2. Adjust the copy settings on the Settings and Adjustment tabs, as needed.
    3. Click Preview to apply your settings.
  2. Load paper in the paper support.
  3. Click Copy.

Experiment with your photo software to make sure that the image you are enlarging or reducing would look good in actual printed form. Jagged edges usually appear when images are printed larger than the size they are meant to be. Minimize this pixilated effect by following the instructions for your printing or copying jobs.
