Setup troubleshooting checklist
If you experience problems with your All-In-One, check the following before contacting Lexmark Customer Support:
- Is the power supply firmly attached to your All-In-One and a properly grounded electrical outlet? Check the cable connection.
- Are both your All-In-One and computer on?
- Do you have only one Lexmark 5200 Series All-In-One installed on your computer?
- Is your USB cable securely attached to your All-In-One and to your computer? Check the cable connection.
- Are any All-In-One lights blinking? See Error messages and flashing lights.
- Did you Install the All-In-One software correctly?
- Is your All-In-One set as the default or current printer? Check the All-In-One status.
- Is your All-In-One directly connected to your computer? If it is connected through an external device such
as a USB hub, switch box, scanner, or fax machine:
- Disconnect your All-In-One from any external devices.
- Connect your All-In-One directly to your computer with a USB cable.
- Print a test page.
- Did you Install the print cartridges correctly?
- Did you remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of each print cartridge?
- Did you Load paper correctly? Make sure you do not push the paper too far into the All-In-One.
- Is your All-In-One compatible with your operating system? Your 5200 Series All-In-One is supported in
Mac OS X version 10.1.5 and Mac OS X version 10.2 and later.
- Do you have administrator rights? Refer to the Help Center for information on getting administrator rights
to install the software.
