Crop photos manually

If using the Auto-crop is not satisfactory, you can crop your photos manually.

  1. Load paper in the paper support.
  2. Load original documents on the scanner glass.
  3. Open the Lexmark 6200 Series Center.
  4. From either the Scan tab or the Copy tab, click Preview... to open the Scan dialog or the Copy dialog.
Note: Auto-crop in the Scan dialog is turned on when Photo is selected from the What is being scanned? menu in the Scan tab. Auto-crop in the Copy dialog is turned on when Auto is chosen from the Original Paper Size: pop-up menu in the Copy tab.
  5. In the preview area, click anywhere outside of the rectangular dashed line that defines the crop area. This turns off the auto-cropping function, and the dashed borderline disappears.
  6. Position your cursor on the image. Click and drag your mouse to create your own crop area.
    • When your cursor is in the object mode (represented by a hand), click and drag with your mouse to move the crop area and select the part of the photo that you want scanned or copied.
    • With your mouse, move or drag the corner and side handles of the cropping bounds to extend or contract the crop area.
  7. Click Preview Again to refresh the image in the preview area.
Note: Not all changes and adjustments in the settings are reflected in the preview image when the Preview Again button is clicked.
  8. Click Scan or Copy.

By clicking Scan, only the designated cropped area is saved or sent to your application. By clicking Copy, only the designated cropped area is printed.
