Cropping photos manually
If using the Auto-crop function is not satisfactory, you can crop photos manually.
- Load paper into the paper support.
- Load an original document on the scanner glass.
- Open the Lexmark 4300 Series Center.
- From either the Scan tab or the Copy tab, click Preview/Edit to open the Scan dialog or the Copy dialog.
Note: |
Auto-crop sensitivity on the Scan dialog is turned on when Photo is selected from the "What is being scanned?" menu on the Scan tab. Auto-crop sensitivity on the Copy dialog is turned on when Auto is selected from the "Original Image Size" pop-up menu on the Copy tab. |
- In the preview area, click anywhere outside of the dashed frame that defines the crop area. This turns off the Auto-crop function, and the dashed frame disappears.
- Position the pointer over the image. Hold down the mouse, and drag the mouse to create your own crop area.
- Position the pointer over the corner or side handles of the cropping bounds. Hold down the mouse, and drag the corner or side handles to extend or contract the crop area.
- When the pointer is in the object mode (represented by a hand), hold down the mouse, drag the mouse to move the crop area, and select the part of the photo you want scanned or copied.
- Click Preview Again to refresh the image in the preview area.
Note: |
Not all changes and adjustments in the settings are reflected on the preview image when the Preview Again button is clicked. |
- Click Scan or Copy.
When you click Scan, only the designated cropped area is saved or sent to your application. When you click Copy, only the designated cropped area is printed.
