Networking with a print server

You can use your Lexmark 6200 Series All-In-One on the network by connecting it to a print server. Refer to the documentation of your print server to know if it is compatible with your All-In-One.

With a print server, your All-In-One is capable of printing on the network. It is not capable of scanning on the network.

Note: Mac OS X v10.3 Panther provides an Apple-implemented scan to network system that lets you set up your All-In-One to scan on the network as well as to print. Go to Printer sharing.

To use your All-In-One on the network using a print server:

  1. First learn about the:
  2. Connect your All-In-One to a print server. Refer to the print server documentation for help in setting up your All-In-One for networking.
  3. Configure your All-In-One as a network printer:
  4. If your All-In-One is on a remote subnet, go to Add a remote network printer.
  5. Add your All-In-One to the Printer List.
