Resizing an image

  1. Load paper into the paper support.
  2. Load the image on the scanner glass.
  3. Open the Lexmark 3300 Series Center. The Lexmark 3300 Series Center Main Page appears.
  4. Select the Copy tab.
  5. From "Original Paper Type" pop-up menu, choose the paper size that matches the actual size of the photo
or document on the scanner glass.
  6. Enter the correct paper size so that the resized image is not cropped or distorted. The All-In-One scanning software reads this information and uses it to resize the document when you set the Resizing value.
  7. Follow either of the following:

    Enlarging an image

    Reducing an image

From the Resize area, choose the desired enlargement value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter an incremental percentage value.

For example, if you choose 8 x 10 in (letter size) for a 3 x 5 photo, the photo is resized into an 8 x 10 image.

Note: To enlarge an image, the resize value must be higher than the actual size of the original image.

From the Resize area, choose the desired reduction value. You can choose any of the preset sizes, or you can manually enter a percentage value lower than the size of the original image.

For example, if you choose 2.5 x 3.5 in (Wallet) for a 3 x 5 photo, the photo is resized into a wallet-size image.

Note: To reduce an image, the resize value must be lower than the actual size of the original image.

After enlarging or reducing the image, you can:

  1. Click Copy.
Note: Experiment with the photo software to make sure that the image you are enlarging or reducing has a good appearance in actual printed form. Jagged edges usually appear when images are printed larger than the size they are meant to be. Minimize this jagged effect by following the directions for printing or copying a document type.
