Check the print cartridges

Check for proper cartridge installation

Open the scanner unit. With the front of the All-In-One facing you, make sure that the color cartridge is properly installed in the right carrier, and the black or photo cartridge is properly installed in the left carrier. For help, go to Install the print cartridges.

Check the ink levels

• Return to the Lexmark 6200 Series Utility and check the cartridge ink level images that appear on the dialog. If a cartridge is low, or if you have received an Ink Low message on your screen, install a new cartridge.
• Check ink levels from the control panel on the All-In-One. Go to Maintenance—from the control panel.
• For cartridge ordering information, go to Supplies.
• To install a new cartridge, go to Install the print cartridges.

Check the nozzles and contacts

• Make sure the sticker and transparent tape are removed from the print cartridges. Tape keeps ink from leaving the cartridge.
• If the nozzles and contacts are dirty, Clean the print cartridge nozzles and Wipe the print cartridge nozzles and contacts

You can also check the print cartridges from the control panel on the All-In-One. Go to Maintenance—from the control panel.
