Solution

The Power light is not lit

Is the power supply cord pushed all the way into the All-In-One?

Disconnect the power supply cord from the wall outlet, and then from the All-In-One. Reconnect the power supply cord by pushing it all the way into the connector on the All-In-One.

Go to Check the cable connection.

Is the All-In-One connected to a working electrical outlet?

Connect the All-In-One to an electrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using.

Go to Check the cable connection.

Did you press the Power button?

Press Power to turn on the All-In-One.

Software does not install

Does the CD icon appear on your desktop after inserting the CD?

If nothing happens, follow these steps:

  1. Close all open software applications.
  2. Remove the printer software CD.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. When your desktop appears, reinsert the printer software CD. The Lexmark 6200 Series CD icon is created on your desktop.
  5. Install the All-In-One software.

Are there any open applications?

Open applications, apart from taking up computer memory and slowing down the installation process, may completely block the installation of a new software. Also, certain anti-virus software are known to hinder software installation.

  1. Close all open applications.
  2. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software.

Is your operating system compatible with the All-In-One?

Your All-In-One supports these operating systems:

  • Mac OS X version 10.1.5 or later
  • Mac OS X version 10.2.3 or later
  • Mac OS X version 10.3.0 or later

Alignment page or test page does not print

Is the All-In-One on?

Press Power. If the Power light does not come on, Check the cable connection.

Do you see an error message?

Go to Error messages and flashing lights.

Is your All-In-One connected to your computer through another device, such as a USB hub or switch box?

Disconnect the USB cable from any other devices and directly connect it between the All-In-One and your computer.

Did you remove the sticker and transparent tape from the bottom of each print cartridge?

Remove a used cartridge, check for the transparent tape, and then reinsert them. Go to Install the print cartridges.

Are the print cartridges installed properly?

Make sure that the black or photo cartridge is in the left carrier and the color cartridge is in the right carrier. Go to Check the print cartridges.

Is the paper loaded correctly?

Go to Load paper.

All-In-One ejects a blank page after appearing to print

Did you remove the sticker and transparent tape from the bottom of each print cartridge?

Remove a used cartridge, check for the sticker and transparent tape, and then reinsert the cartridges. Go to Install the print cartridges.

Does your cartridge have clogged nozzles?

Clean the print cartridge nozzles. Follow the steps in Improve print quality.
