Troubleshooting
Before contacting Lexmark Customer Support, first try troubleshooting the problem with the All-In-One yourself. Make sure:
- Both the computer and the All-In-One are turned on. Make sure the power cord is firmly connected to the All-In-One and plugged in. For more information, see Checking the cable connection.
- The flat end of the USB cable is properly inserted into the USB port at the back of the computer, and the smaller, square end is properly inserted into the USB port at the back of the All-In-One. For more information, see Checking the cable connection. To purchase a USB cable, visit the Lexmark Web site at www.lexmark.com.
- You installed the print cartridges correctly. Make sure the black or photo cartridge is inserted into the left carrier and, the color cartridge is inserted into the right carrier. Also, make sure the sticker and tape of both cartridges are removed from the contacts and nozzles. For more information, see Installing the print cartridges.
- Paper is loaded correctly. For more information, see Loading paper.
- The All-In-One is connected directly to the computer or is networked using a print server. For more information, see Networking.
- The All-In-One is set as the default printer. For more information, see Making sure the All-In-One is set as the default printer.
