Networking with a print server

You can use the Lexmark 4300 Series All-In-One on a network by connecting it to a print server. See the documentation that came with the print server to find out whether it is compatible with the All-In-One.

With a print server, the All-In-One is capable of printing on the network. It is not capable of scanning on the network.

Note: Mac OS X version 10.3 provides an Apple-implemented scan-to-network system that lets you set up the All-In-One to scan on the network as well as to print. For more information, see Printer sharing.

To use the All-In-One on the network using a print server:

  1. First learn about the:
  2. Connect the All-In-One to a print server. See the print server documentation for help in setting up the All-In-One for networking.

    • Assign an IP address
  4. If the All-In-One is on a remote subnet, see Adding a remote network printer.
